Karakol is a city of contrasts. In winter, the largest ski resort in Kyrgyzstan operates here with 20 km of slopes. From December to April, the temperature drops to -15°C, and the snow cover is stable. Ski passes start from 1500 KGS/day.
In summer, from June to September, Karakol transforms into a trekking hub. Altyn-Arashan, Ala-Kul, Jeti-Oguz offer hiking routes for all fitness levels. Daytime temperatures range between +20-25°C, with cool nights.
Autumn (September-October) is a golden season for photographers: spruce forests turn yellow, and Lake Issyk-Kul is still warm enough for swimming.
Spring is a period of high water in the mountains, so some roads might be closed, but the blooming fruit orchards in the city are absolutely worth seeing.
